Summer Family Fun in Malta,
Malta residents summer is here! Come share in the many festivities and free summer events that are taking place this summer in our hometown.  We should come together by enjoying the many fun family events taking place right here in our backyard.  Mark your calendars for the upcoming Malta summer concert taking place on Thursday, July 16th at the Malta Community Center and Malta Family night to be held at the Shenantaha Creek Park Wednesday, August 5.  These two events are free to the public.

MARGARET “MAGGI” RUISI - MOVING MALTA FORWARD, PUTTING CITIZENS FIRST!

Margaret “Maggi” Ruisi is the endorsed Republican, Independence and Conservative candidate running for Malta Town Council.  Ruisi brings years of dedicated public service experience to the town of Malta by working within our town government and community. 

Ruisi’s integrity, dedication, and energy makes her one of the most appealing new fresh candidates Malta has seen in quite some time.

As a lifelong resident of Malta, Ruisi, was raised by a mother and father that dedicated their lives to family values and public service.  She attributes her  success to her mother Charlotte Kelley, and late father, Thomas Kelley.  Charlotte, a Retired Deputy Tax Receiver for the Town of Malta, and Thomas, a Technical Sergeant for the New York State Police and a World War II Navy Veteran.

As your next councilwoman, Maggi will continue to move Malta forward by creating jobs, keeping Malta Town Tax Free and focus on essential government services for our community.

“I am running for Town Council because the face of Malta is changing and it looks like mine.” Ruisi is a working mother, wife and taxpayer, carrying the credentials and experience that Malta deserves in its next town councilwoman.  Maggi’s hometown values shared with government experience make her the very best candidate to serve Malta citizens and will carry that honor with pride in her heart.

Maggi will be a voice for our community by addressing tough issues that she shares alike many other young families in Malta.  Her candidacy will give Malta families a voice in their town government.   “I am incredibly excited to take this journey and have the opportunity to serve the Town that I have lived in and loved my entire life.” 

Ruisi has and continues to serve as Deputy Supervising Court Clerk for the Town of Malta which by dealing directly with citizens of Malta on a daily basis – understand the needs, concerns, and realities of their lives.

Maggi’s civic duties also include serving as a member of the Malta Historic Preservation and Review Commission and Malta Trails Committee.

Additionally, Maggi is a member of the , Malta Republican Committee, Saratoga County Women’s Republican Club, New York State Magistrates and Court Clerks Association and the National Rifle Association. 

Ruisi has studied archeology at the University of Albany and is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School.

 Maggi is married to husband Nick Ruisi of 10 years, is the proud mother of 4-year old daughter Carly Ruisi, and two lovable dogs, Lokie and Harrah.  Ruisi grew up near the Rhule Road Farm on Rhule Road South and now resides in Northway Eleven Communities.

Roger Crandall, Endorsed Republican for Malta Highway Superintendent has received the endorsements from the Saratoga County Conservative Party, Saratoga County Independence Party and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 294, which represents the Malta Highway Department union members.

“I am delighted to have received the endorsements of the Saratoga County Conservative, and Independence parties and Teamsters Local 294”, stated Crandall. I look forward in representing the townspeople in a professional and safe working environment just as I have in running my own excavation business for over 30+ years.  Crandall shares a wealth of experience needed to run the highway department as owner/operator of Crandall Excavating LLC, a life-long resident of Malta and successful businessmen.

Crandall Excavating was incepted in 1978. “I started my own business through hard work and determination, and will bring my experience and knowledge I have built to the residents of Malta as their next Highway Superintendent.”

Crandall is married to wife Sandi and will be celebrating 29 years of marriage this November.  “She has been my life, my friend, my salvation; together our lives have stayed true.  I want the people of our fine town to know just who I am.  I am an honest, reliable person of integrity in my personal life as well as in my professional life.  I will work hard to gain your trust, your respect, and your vote!”

Crandall understands the importance of team building and working with others.  “I will listen, increase communications and dialog, and build respect not only with department employees but throughout the town.  It is about bringing people together.” 

Roger will bring new, fresh, solutions to the highway department, by working with the Town Family as a team to keep costs down, no new taxes and keeping the town to task on its budget.  “On day one I will call out to the employees’ union to establish a strong working relationship.  My goal will be to have the best trained/cross trained employees’ resulting in increased productivity and most importantly team morale which will result in a cost savings town wide.”

Malta GOP Endorses Slate of Candidates for 2009

The Town of Malta Republican Committee hasd voted on its candidates for elected offices of Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, Town Board, Highway Superintendent, and Town Justice.  The Committee would like to thank all candidates for their interest in running for these positions.  The endorsed Republican Candidates for the General Election in November are: Paul Sausville, Town Supervisor; Flo Sickels, Town Clerk; Maggi Ruisi, Town Board; John Hartzell, Town Board; Roger Crandall, Highway Superintendent; James McKevitt, Town Justice.  The Town of Malta Republican Committee fully recognizes these endorsements and will adamantly support these candidates running in the November election.
